While we here at THP absolutely adore the color green, its use on golf clubs has historically been met with a bit of love it or leave it mentality, something Callaway Golf knows all about. While performance over paint is the reality for most golfers, that doesn’t mean you can’t have both.
It is for that reason that this past July, Callaway Golf gave a whole lot of people exactly what they had been clamoring for when they introduced the Night Edition versions of their Elyte drivers to the world. However, we internet golfers always want more, and today, Callaway is giving us more.
This time, it is the Elyte Mini Driver which is going into dark mode as it is getting the full Night Edition treatment just as the drivers did. If you want to know more about the design itself, be sure to check out THP’s full release article on it here, but this is very much all about the aesthetics.

As you can see in the images, the Elyte Mini Night Edition is all business, from every angle, this is the Darth Vader of mini drivers unleased into the golf world. For those curious, both the 11.5 and 13 degree versions will be available, each paired with a True Temper Denali Charcoal in men’s, or Mitsubishi Chemical Elido for the women’s model. As with the previous launch of the Night Edition version of the drivers, there is a small price bump on the Mini, coming in at $519.99.

Pre-Sale for the Callaway Elyte Night Edition Mini Driver begins on September 26th and it will hit retail on October 3rd.. More information on this as well as the rest of the Callaway Night Edition releases can be found at their website at www.callawaygolf.com.

I’d definitely prefer owning the Night Edition of my Mini. However, can’t see any green when I’m using the club so I guess it doesn’t matter. Headcover; I replace covers after every shot.

So, I know there’s another main thread on the mini that has all the activity, but I wanted to post in this one specifically for a couple reasons.
First, I’ve been messing around with the 11.5 version of this one, weight added to the forward port, standard loft and lie, and paired with a Diamana WB 73TX in it.
I played the previous mini (Smoke) and honestly, I couldn’t get along with it. It seemed gargantuan and it spun like a top for me more times than not. So, I dragged by feet on the Elyte until this release happened and we got one in hand here at THP.
I’ve had the R7 in the bag, and the BRNR as well as GT280 before that and enjoyed them all, much more than I did the smoke to be honest.
But, this one is indeed different. No, it’s not low spin, it still spins more than the other three for me, but it’s the consistency of the spin and reduction of gear effect on strikes across the face, especially laterally, which has made this a bit of a revelation.
I’ve found a groove with it, and it’s been a ton of fun. But I posed myself the question, would I enjoy the non night edition as much and after putting an Elyte driver I. The bag with its standard colorway the past couple weeks, I don’t think so.
So my question, where do you stand on things like this night edition we saw from Callaway this year? Should it stay a limited thing, or should brands be more neutral in their main line color selections?

i love my r7 and had no interest in any other mini drivers (until cobra’s officially drops.)
My gamer has been the Elyte TD Max but I never even considered the elyte mini bc of how well i hit the r7……. but when i went to pga superstore a few months ago and they had 1 night edition 13.5 mini left, i absolutely loved the look and ended up buying it

I think it would be cool to see something like a night edition actually be a main release but I get why easy recognition on TV is more of a focus than neutral or subtle styling most if the time.
